FARM CARE LOCKDOWN PACKAGES
In the midst of the massive confusion and the wallowing hunger the poor Filipino people are going through due to the last minute Lockdown policy of the Philippine government hundreds of care packages of bags were distributed to many displaced workers, elderly and IPs in Pampanga and Tarlac provinces by the Filipino American Rural Mission.
The recipients were very thankful and excited as the packages were very different from the Local Government issued assistance that only contained 1 to 3 kilos of rice because FARM packages came with rice, eggs, canned goods and cleaning supplies.
“Without you coming here it will be impossible for us to get supplies like these to the stores not only because we don’t have money but also vehicles,” says a Barangay Council Woman. The lockdown in the Philippines is making very impossible for people to work because of the cancellation of public transportation.
It was very unfortunate that out of the so many people deserving to be assisted the volunteers of FARM had to select a limited number of beneficiaries that came from senior Citizens, Indigenous People, Single Mother's and Displaced Workers from Barangay Marcos Village and Barangay Calumpang in Pampanga and Barangay San Vicente and Sto Nino in Tarlac .
